Manchester United vs Tottenham is going to be played on Sunday as a part of the fourth round of the Premier League. For the Red Devils, however, this is going to be their third game of the 2020-21 season as they didn’t play in Week 1.

Instead, they started in Round 2, when Crystal Palace blasted them 3-1. They did, however, come back with a win in the following round. Manchester United beat Brighton 3-2 in a super-exciting game that saw two goals in the stoppage time. Tottenham also started the new season with a defeat, but then beat Southampton 5-2 in the second round.

As both teams seem to be working hard on improving their Premier League forms, their clash the upcoming weekend is expected to be a very interesting one. By ‘interesting’ we mean packed with goals on both ends.

Manchester United’s Leaky Defense

Manchester United’s score difference after two games in the 2020-21 Premier League is 4-5. Considering that they played against two teams that finished the previous season in the bottom half of the table, allowing five goals seems too much.

Although their goalkeeper David de Gea has been the target of critics lately, he wasn’t the man to blame for most of those goals. In fact, he did reasonably okay in those two games. His teammates in front of him, however, were not very good in those matches. This goes especially for central defenders, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire who had big problems every time the ball ended up in their box.

Gareth Bale Could Make His Second Tottenham Debut

Such a poor defense has to worry Manchester United ahead of their game with Tottenham, a team that’s superb in the attack, led by Harry Kane, one of the world’s best attackers. In addition to Kane, they also got the incredible finisher Son Heung-min, as well as, since recently, Gareth Bale.

Although the legendary Welshman is listed as injured, we might see him making his second debut for Tottenham on Sunday. If this scenario does play out, we probably won’t see him playing from the start, but he might come in if his team needs him in the second half.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Betting Prediction

Right now, Tottenham Hotspurs look like the better of the two teams. However, Manchester United has a lot of super-talented players in the squad, so saying that they’re likely going to lose this would be an overstatement.

Still, judging by what we saw in the previous rounds, we are likely to see each of these teams scoring at least once. When it comes to soccer prop bets, maybe backing Son Heung-min to score would be the right thing to do. The South Korean forward has been in a fantastic form lately. At the moment of writing, he has 5 goals to his name from the previous four games in all competitions.
