Czech Republic vs Denmark – Betting Prediction EURO 2020
Neither team has played a game in Azerbaijan yet, but that’s going to happen on Saturday. The two meet in Baku in a game of the EURO 2020 quarterfinals.
It’s not going to be easy to play this game as weather in Azerbaijan’s capital will probably be very hot and humid. The temperature at kickoff will probably be over 85 °F or over 30 °C. That’s likely to cause problems for both teams as neither of them has played in such conditions on this tournament.
Czech Republic played most of its games in the UK (London and Glasgow), while Denmark’s games were played mostly on their turf – Copenhagen.
Danes Favored to Win
From a living nightmare to living a dream – that’s how Denmark’s campaign at the Euros can be described.
After horrible scenes in their first game of the tournament when Eriksen had a cardiac arrest, the Danes have managed to bounce back. They’ve been brilliant in their previous two games, playing passionately and celebrating every goal as it was a trophy-winner.
In their previous two matches, they scored a total of eight goals while conceding only one. Everyone seems to be cheering for them to continue playing like that. The question is do they have the player quality for that?
The answer is: sure they do!
Even without Eriksen who’s their best player, Denmark has a fantastic team. They seem strong in literally every position on the pitch, including the no.9 position, which had been thought of as their Achilles’ Heel in the past.
But, then, in the quarterfinal against Wales, Kasper Dolberg showed that the Danes have a lethal striker in him by scoring twice.
Can Czechs Upset the Odds Once Again?
Czech Republic beat the Netherlands in Round of 16 with 2 goals to nil. Does such a big achievement make them favorites? No, it doesn’t because the Dutch are to blame for that result.
Their center-back de Ligt got sent off in 55th minute of the game, so the Czechs didn’t have too much of a difficult task to beat the 10-men Netherlands.
Nevertheless, no one can take from them that they did play very well. No surprise there, as they do have some pretty good players, especially in the offensive part of the midfield.
Czech Republic vs Denmark Prediction
It’s got to be Denmark. Not only are they the better team, but they’re super-motivated to win. However, I don’t think they’re going to have an easy job on Saturday evening. In fact, I think we might see extra time here, or even penalties!
