We did great with our last batch of picks, so here’s another one! We’ll now present you with our top picks for Monday, April 7, 2025, covering soccer games from three top European leagues – the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, and Spanish La Liga.
Leicester vs. Newcastle Pick: Newcastle
Leicester City are going back to the Championship, it’s almost certain. They’d need a miracle to avoid relegation, which would include winning most of their remaining games in the 2024-25 Premier League. The issue here is that they’re in horrible form, with eight losses in a row, in all competitions.
It’s almost the opposite when it comes to Newcastle. The Magpies are in good form with three wins in a row, two of which happened in the Premier League. Speaking of the Prem, they’re currently in the No. 7 position in the standings with 50 points.
However, Eddie Howe’s men have played two games fewer than each of the six teams currently above them. Plus, they have a chance to leapfrog at least two teams (Aston Villa and Manchester City) with a win over Leicester this evening.
The biggest problem for them ahead of the game at King Power Stadium is that they’ll miss a couple of key men. Anthony Gordon is out for a fourth game straight, this time because of an injury (rather than a red card suspension). Defender Lewis Hall is also out for the fifth time in a row.
The good news for Newcastle’s fans is that the Magpies have already proved they can do well without these guys.
Bologna vs. Napoli Pick: Napoli/Draw
We continue our best bets suggestions with one meant for the Bologna vs. Napoli game. Both teams are in great shape, but it’s Bologna that’s been really impressive with six wins in a row in all competitions.
As a result, these guys are now fourth in the 2024-25 Serie A with 56 points. As they’ve played one game fewer than any other team except Napoli, they have a chance to leapfrog Atalanta to the No. 3 position with a win tonight.
However, beating Napoli won’t be easy as these guys too are very motivated to win. If they win, they will get to just one point behind table leader Inter Milan.
They have a better team than Bologna, that’s a fact. However, they’re not very good when it comes to playing on the road. At least that’s been the case in the last couple of months – they’re 0-3-1 in their last four away games in the Italian topflight.
Despite that, we think they’re more likely to win than Bologna. However, the safest bet for this game is double chance Napoli/Draw.
Leganes vs. Osasuna Pick: Both Teams to Score
Leganes vs. Osasuna is a battle to avoid relegation. Leganes are in the 18th spot right now, which is in the relegation zone. However, with a win over Osasuna this evening, they’d improve their chances of staying up significantly.
Meanwhile, a loss for Osasuna would mean that their future in the Spanish topflight is no longer secure. This is why we expect both teams to take this game seriously.
Apart from winning points, doing well in this game is important for morale as well as both teams are in poor shape, each with three losses in the last four La Liga rounds.
For all these reasons, we think this game will end in a draw, but it probably won’t be a goalless draw. Instead, we suspect the game might end 1:1 or 2:2.
