ATP Vienna Outright – Novak Djokovic to Win the Trophy?
ATP Vienna a.k.a. 2020 Erste Bank Open is probably the most interesting tennis tournament we will have by the end of the year. Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, and Andrey Rublev – these are the four players from the ATP Top 10 who got themselves a place in the tournament. Those guys are the main favorites for winning the ATP Vienna Outright, in that exact order.
So, if you’re looking for tennis prop bets or outright suggestions, you are at the right place. We’re now going to examine the odds for each of those players for winning the ATP Vienna Outright. We will also give you some (hopefully) useful tennis betting tips and picks. So, let’s start!
Novak Djokovic to Win the Trophy?
Djokovic is the #1 favorite to win this trophy, which is no surprise knowing that the Serbian player is at the top of the ATP Rankings. His fantastic run in 2020 got tarnished recently when he got obliterated by Rafa Nadal in the final of the 2020 French Open.
Although the Spanish player was expected to win, not many believed he was going to destroy Djokovic by 3-0 (6-0,6-2,7-5). However, that tournament was played on clay and Nadal is the King of Clay. The ATP Vienna is played on hardcourt, something which Djokovic adores.
Another reason why Djokovic is expected to do very well in this tournament is that the bracket is such that he cannot meet Thiem nor Medvedev before the final. The toughest opponent he can get is Tsitsipas, with whom Novak has a 4-2 score.
Dominic Thiem to Win the Trophy?
Thiem looks like someone who has what it takes to replace the Big Three of ATP (Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer) once they finish their careers. Still, until that happens, he will probably stay under the radar. The reason is that he’s just not good as those three.
What this means is that even if he reaches the final of the ATP Vienna, he’ll probably end up losing to Djokovic. Add to that the fact that Thiem is probably going to be jaded in the final after playing some tough matches throughout the tournament.
Someone Else to Win the ATP Vienna?
Dominic Thiem seems like the only person who can beat Djokovic at the ATP Vienna. The trouble is that he’s going to have to play against some really tricky opponents on his road to the final. For example, it’s very likely that he’s going to meet Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final. Of course, only if he manages to beat Rublev first.
ATP Vienna Outright Prediction
Even though all the guys from the ATP Top 10 look capable of winning big tournaments in the future, at the moment, it’s the Big Three who will keep dominating the tennis world. That said, anything but Djokovic winning the trophy would be a major surprise.
