Arsenal @ Manchester City Prediction (Premier League)
Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, and Kevin De Bruyne – these guys will miss the action in the Arsenal @ Manchester City game. All of them are injured, which is going to make it even harder for Pep Guardiola’s boys to win points.
Manchester City’s efforts to recapture the Premier League title have not been too fruitful so far. This team has won only one game in the 2020-21 season. The good news is that the season has just started. The bad news is that they’re having a very tough game to play on Saturday.
City need points, but Arsenal have been really good lately, which is something that promises a very entertaining duel.
Great Betting Value on Arsenal
Oddsmakers think Manchester City are going to win this game, with the odds of -250 (2/5 or 1.40). The odds on Arsenal go as long as +670 (67/10 or 7.70) at some online sportsbooks.
However, our tipsters at the FatCatBet believe it shouldn’t be like that. There are several reasons why the Gunners should be considered at least moderate favorites against the Citizens. Some of those reasons include the following:
- Arsenal have won 3 out of 4 Premier League games this season.
- The Gunners have scored at least a goal in each game so far.
- Arsenal look terrific in the attack, with Lacazette, Aubameyang, and Willian.
- The last time these two teams met, the Gunners were the victors.
- All of Arsenal’s key men are 100% fit for the game.
- Manchester City will be without three crucial players.
The final point in the list is probably the most important one. Without Aguero, Jesus, and De Bruyne, City’s chances of winning all three points in the Arsenal @ Manchester City game look pretty slim.
Are Aguero, Jesus, and De Bruyne Definitely Out?
Sergio Aguero, arguably their most important player, has been out for several months. He’s been working hard on his fitness, but according to the Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, we probably aren’t going to see the Argentine striker for at least a few weeks.
It’s practically the same situation with Gabriel Jesus, although he might return even later. Aguero and Jesus have been out for a while, but there are a few injury woes in the sky blue part of Manchester.
Kevin De Bruyne, one of the best midfielders of his generation, got himself injured while on international duty a few days ago. He got injured playing for Belgium, after which he left his national team’s camp and flew back to England. Although it’s not 100% certain, he is probably not going to start the Arsenal @ Manchester City game.
Another player who withdrew from international duties is Raheem Sterling. The England international also picked up an injury and flew back to Manchester, but unlike De Bruyne, Sterling is expected to be ready for the clash with Arsenal, albeit not at 100% fitness.
Arsenal’s New Signings Determined to Shine
Even without several of their key men, Man City are still a very tough team. They got at least two great players in each position on the pitch. But, so do the Gunners, at least, since recently.
Arsenal have made some really impressive signings over the latest transfer period, bringing in Willian, Gabriel, and Thomas. Willian has been fantastic upfront with his dribbling. Gabriel has been dominating Arsenal’s box. And what about Thomas?
The ex-Atletico Madrid player is famous for being a true midfield general. Not only does he have a fantastic knowledge of the game, but he’s also very physical. It’s not easy to pass the ball past him, especially not without Kevin De Bruyne in the center of the pitch.
Arsenal @ Manchester City Betting Picks
Despite what the oddsmakers are suggesting, it seems we’re going to witness another major upset. Arsenal just look better at the moment, with City’s poor form and dreadful problems with injuries.
If you’re worried Arsenal don’t have what it takes to beat Man City once again, maybe a double-chance Arsenal/draw would be a better betting option for you.
