2021 Champions League Winner Odds
- Manchester City +200
- Bayern Munich +350
- Chelsea +500
- Liverpool +600
- PSG +800
- Real Madrid +1000
- Borussia Dortmund +3100
- Porto +4000
Our Favorite: Manchester City
We completely agree with oddsmakers that Manchester City is the #1 favorite for winning the Champions League in 2021. There are many reasons for that, including the following:
- With $1.2 billion value, Manchester City is the most valuable soccer team on Earth
- Manchester City has never won the Champions League
- The City boss Pep Guardiola has won the Champions League two times as the manager of Barcelona
- Manchester City can focus on the Champions League entirely, as this team is very close to securing the Premier League title (the Sky Blues have 11 points more than the second-placed team)
What’s got to worry Man City fans is that this team still hasn’t faced real Champions League heavyweights this season. In the group, they played against Olympiakos, Porto, and Marseille, while in the first round of the knockout phase, their opponent was Borussia Monchengladbach.
What this means is that they still haven’t faced a strong an opponent as Borussia Dortmund this season. They did, however, square off with some big teams in the Premier League, including Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal. All those teams they managed to beat.
Dark Horse: PSG
Oddsmakers think that Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool all have a better chance of winning the 2021 Champions League than PSG. However, we beg to differ.
Sure, Bayern Munich is the reigning champ of Europe, but when you’re the king, everyone wants your head on the plate. This includes PSG, who will do everything they can do knock-out Bayern from the competition.
Although the German team is probably better as a whole, there are some rumors that things aren’t so great in paradise. Apparently, the Bayern manager Hansi Flick is not pleased with those above him, particularly the club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Still, the #1 reason why PSG could win this double-header is the fact that they got some superstars in the squad. Kylian Mbappe has been sensational this season, Neymar is one of the world’s best players, while Mauro Icardi is someone who can outsmart any defense on the planet.
Plus, this season, PSG has a fantastic coach. Their manager is Mauricio Pochettino, who made his fame at Tottenham, the team which he led to the final of the Champions League two years ago. He definitely has the skills to take PSG there too.
The problem is that even if the Parisians manage to beat Bayern in the quarterfinal, they will face the winner of the Man City vs. Dortmund matchup in the semifinal.
Potential Upset: Real Madrid
The trouble with PSG is that they have a very difficult draw. On the other side of the bracket, there are some much easier opponents, which is something Real Madrid can take advantage of. Los Blancos are squaring off with Liverpool in the quarterfinal, after which, they could face either Chelsea or Porto.
Beating Liverpool shouldn’t be too difficult. Sure, the Reds won the Champions League two years ago, but Real Madrid did it a year before that. And a year before. And a year before. In fact, they won the Champions League title four times in the period from 2013 to 2018.
Do Not Bet On: Liverpool
In 2021, it seems that Liverpool has better players than Real, whose biggest stars are already in their mid-thirties, e.g., Luka Modric (35), Karim Benzema (33), Sergio Ramos (34). However, Liverpool is having huge problems in the domestic league, where they’re defending the title.
The Reds are in the #7 position at the moment of writing, with 25 points fewer than Manchester City. There’s no way they can keep the title, but they surely want to finish the season in a decent place in the Premier League rankings, which is going to be their main focus over the next two months.
2021 Champions League: Player Betting
Player betting is something that comes to mind when soccer props are discussed. However, this betting market also goes with Champions League futures.
Instead of betting on how a player is going to perform in a specific game, you can bet on their performances in the entire competition. One such bet is the 2021 Champions League Top-Scorer.
2021 Champions League Scoring Leaders
Borussia Dortmund’s wunderkind Erling Haaland is currently the scoring leader in the Champions League, with 10 goals to his name.
There are six players sharing the second place, each with 6 goals scorer. However, only three of those guys play for the clubs that are still in the Champions League, namely, Mbappe (PSG), Neymar (PSG), and Giroud (Chelsea).
There are seven players with 5 goals scored so far, four of whom are still in the competition for the top-scorer award, namely, Salah (Liverpool), Benzema (Real Madrid), Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), and Oliveira (Porto). Other players have scored 4 goals or fewer.
2021 Champions League Top-Scorer Odds
- Erling Haaland -250
- Kylian Mbappe +800
- Robert Lewandowski +900
- Neymar +1400
- Mohamed Salah +2000
- Olivier Giroud +2500
- Karim Benzema +2800
- Sergio Oliveira +50000
FatCatBet’s Top-Scorer Prediction
Erling Haaland has already scored plenty of goals so far. In fact, 10 is the number of goals that won the top-scorer title for players in the past.
In fact, since the start of the century, nine Champions League seasons had the top-scorer who scored 10 or fewer goals.
Furthermore, Haaland will have at least two more games to increase his tally. That explains why he’s the #1 favorite not only in bookies’ eyes but ours as well.
